Get $10 in Amazon Gift Cards for Every 5 Taps with Softcard

Sure, Apple Pay might be grabbing all the headlines, but Softcard will actually put money back in your pocket, time and time again.

Their latest promotion, which began on November 1st and runs until December 31st 2014, allows Softcard users to earn $10 for every five successful payment taps using a participating credit card.

The limit is $30 per credit card, or 15 taps per card to get the maximum out of this promotion.

If you have a lot of participating cards loaded into the application, such as American Express cards, Amex Serve, Chase cards, and Wells Fargo cards, you can earn a pretty penny with this offer.

Note: The promotion terms say prepaid cards aren’t eligible, so I’m not sure if Amex Serve will result in any Amazon money.

How Much Can You Make with This Promotion?

Anyway, let’s just assume you’ve got five cards currently in your Softcard account. If you tap 15 times with each by Deccember 31st, you’ll be looking at $150 in Amazon gift cards.  Sweet!

5 Softcard taps = $10 in Amazon credit
15 taps per card = $30 in Amazon credit
5 cards x 15 taps = $150 in Amazon credit

The breakdown is above. This is the maximum because the offer is limited to five participating credit cards per Softcard account.

To earn $150 in Amazon credit, you’ll need to tap 75 times over the next month and a half. That sounds excessive, if not impossible, but it’s not that hard to do if you constantly swipe your credit card.

Just use the Softcard map to find some easier options. For example, some vending machines allow Softcard taps, so if you can hit the ol’ vending machine a few times a day (or more), you can make that $150 target fairly easy.  And you won’t be thirsty for a long, long time.

Even if you don’t max out of the promotion, you can still earn some free money pretty easily, without spending much either.

As mentioned, if you use Softcard at vending machines, or at places like McDonald’s and don’t spend more than a buck or so each time, it’s basically getting paid to shop.

I should also mention that your participating credit card must remain in your Softcard account during the offer period to maintain eligibility.

Assuming you qualify, the Amazon gift cards will be sent to your registered e-mail address and could take 30 days to be delivered. I can confirm that I received the promised Amazon gift cards from an earlier Softcard promotion, so don’t worry about getting paid.

Happy tapping!
