World of Warcraft Credit Card

It seems every retail store, sports team, and theme park has its own credit card these days. If you go to Dodger Stadium you’ll be solicited to sign up for their baseball inspired credit card. If you visit Disneyland you’ll likely see a booth offering Disney-themed rewards credit cards.

But the latest themed credit card is seemingly over the top. A World of Warcraft Visa card, based on the popular video game that has gamers worldwide glued to their PCs.

The World of Warcraft credit card was released by First National Bank of Omaha in conjunction with Blizzard Entertainment, the game’s creator.

The new credit card will feature a rewards program that allows cardholders to earn “gametime” with card purchases, as well as a free one-month subscription to World of Warcraft upon first use of the credit card.

The World of Warcraft credit card comes with 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 12 months and no annual fee.

Additionally, cardholders will be able to choose from 13 different designs featuring characters from the popular video game

To complete the credit card application, the site asks you to simply enter your World of Warcraft Account Name.

It really is amazing to see the integration between a video game and a large credit card issuer. Which begs the question, what’s next?
