Man Receives 2,000 Credit Cards

A Manhattan accountant named Frank Van Buren, cardholder of an ExxonMobil credit card, received more than 2,000 credit cards after a routine renewal of this card.

Responding to the fact that his credit card was due to expire, Van Buren ordered two replacement credit cards, only to receive two boxes filled with 1,000 credit cards in each box.

He also expressed shock that the company could mistakenly send him a whopping 2,000 credit card.

An ExxonMobil Corp. spokeswoman said the Irving, Texas-based oil company was looking into the matter, although no clear rationale was surfaced yet.

Van Buren noted that he spent quite a bit of time shredding each and every credit card, a painful task that is now behind him.

The expected but unfortunate pun related to this story has regretfully surfaced, that he got more credit than he deserved.

Hopefully he won’t end up with 2,000 credit inquiries on his credit report or he’ll have a some serious credit repair duties on his hands.
