JetBlue Employees Charged with Credit Card Fraud

It seems JetBlue can’t shake controversy, whether it’s being trapped on an airplane for 12 hours in a snowstorm, or employees stealing your credit card information.

Authorities have charged four JetBlue employees and a New York City corrections officer with identity theft.

Investigators began looking into the situation after a JetBlue passenger accidentally left his credit card at a JetBlue ticket counter in John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The aforementioned credit card was later used to run up $508 in fraudulent charges at shops, liquor stores, including Bloomingdale’s and Victoria’s Secret.

The JetBlue employees also gave one of the credit cards to a New York City corrections officer who joined in on the scam.

A JetBlue spokesman said the company is cooperating with the investigation, and that all four employees have been suspended. Three of the convicted employees are customer service representatives and the fourth is a flight attendant.

The arrests come just months after JetBlue had tried to restore its’ reputation as a reputable airline and business.
