Citi Mobile Banking on Your Cell Phone
Citibank recently launched an exciting new program that allows customers to perform a variety of banking tasks from their own cell phone or wireless device.
The Citi Mobile program is available to consumers in the United States, and the technology is compatible with over 100 wireless devices.
The program can be downloaded by logging on to the website, visiting a Citibank branch, or downloading via a wireless device.
If you’re a Citi customer and you’re interested in signing up for the program, click here to check out program highlights and sign up.
I’m still waiting for program to be released on my phone, but according to the Citi Mobile website, once that happens I’ll be able to easily view real-time balances, see account activity, pay bills, set up future payments, transfer money, find a Financial Center or ATM, and direct connect to customer service representatives.
Seems pretty exciting, especially if you’re on the go and can’t get to a computer, or simply want to take care of business without delay.
The only real negative is that you’ll need to have a phone with web access, as you may be charged extra if you don’t already have a web plan on your wireless device.
If you’re concerned about security, Citi Mobile transactions are secured with same 128-bit encryption technology that’s used at Citibank.com and no personal information is stored on the wireless devices.
If a phone is lost or stolen, the Citi Mobile program can be deactivated instantly from a remote location.
It’s nice to see the next generation of banking actually coming together.
