Canadian Man Risks Life to Avoid Excessive Credit Card Fees

A Canadian man put his life at risk to avoid paying an $85 credit card processing fee.

He explained that if he had mailed the credit card payment from Canada he would have been hit with an $85 fee.

The man attempted to cross the Niagara River from Canada to Buffalo, New York in the middle of the night amid freezing temperatures on nothing more than a rubber raft.

Apparently he wasn’t able to enter legally after past disputes with the Canadian government, so instead of coming in by car, he chose a more daring attempt.

It seems credit card fees are becoming so astronomical that card members are becoming increasingly impatient, leading to senseless acts of frugality.

The man was treated for hypothermia in a local hospital before being placed in custody. Potential charges are unknown at this time.
