American Express and Discover Receive Top Honors
A J.D. Power and Associates survey released today said American Express and Discover cardholders were the most satisfied with their card issuer over the past year than any others.
Jeff Taylor, senior director of banking at J.D. Power and Associates, said American Express and Discover did the best job in regard to focusing on the needs and wants of customers.
Nearly 8,000 cardholders participated in the online survey of 10 card issuers, and American Express came out on top largely due to its benefits and rewards programs.
Discover Card, which came in second, was also a popular choice by consumers for its favorable cash-back rewards and lack of an annual fee.
Discover hopes the success of the card will encourage more merchants to begin accepting it, allowing it to become more mainstream.
I’ve have credit cards with both companies, and I agree that both are very straightforward and easy to use, and also offer some great cash-back incentives.
Though I’d have to say that American Express is the best credit card issuer out there for their dispute resolution, access to great rewards, concerts, and other frills, and for their customer service.
American Express seems to be the easiest company to get a hold of if anything goes wrong, and the quickest to resolve any problems if they arise.
The only thing you need to watch out for with American Express is the annual fee that you’ll find on many of their higher end cards such as the gold card and platinum cards.
But the American Express Clear and the Blue from American Express are fee free, making them solid choices if you’re in the market for a new credit card.
